Young Eddie Kamae first came
into the public eye as a ukulele virtuoso in the Waikiki showrooms of the 40s & 50s. His exploration of innovative
strumming and plucking techniques opened up a new range for the ukulele as a solo instrument. Heart of the Ukulele
was recorded in the 60s and soon after Eddie would go on to form the legendary Sons of Hawaii, whose main focus as
a group was on the preservation of the Hawaiian song. This is great ukulele music performed as a solo instrument
by one of the greatest virtuosos.
